Being Schooled – MakeUp For Life Workshop

Ah! September in the southern hemisphere and spring is well on its way to our shores. If this last little bit of the winter chills could make a quick exit, those beautiful blue and sunny South African skies will be here! I can’t even contain my joy. I just love spring and summer.

Anyway, now that I have got that out the way, I had a very interesting Saturday afternoon (31 August 2013) where I got to spend two and a half hours with the makeup artists of Makeup For Life Professional. The workshop was held at City Lodge Fourways directly opposite Monte Casino.

Make up For Life is a high and middle end cosmetic brand and aims to “reach every woman and empower them with the unshakeable belief that every single one of them can be beautiful“. They aim to inspire your inner beauty. It is an independent brand under the Natural (International) Cosmetics Group. They combine art and makeup to meet their customers’ demands and choices through excellent makeup quality.

Our makeup artist, who was commissioned to show us the ‘tricks of the trade’ when it comes to makeup application, techniques so on and so forth, was the very charming and divalicious Marion – too fabulous she was, darling. 🙂

So the result of the tips and advices I learnt in makeup application. The eye shadows were, for me, the most impressive products. Just see below the rich, bright and highly pigmented green shadow I decided to use.

This green colour is so gorgeous.

This green colour is so gorgeous.

I really loved the results. And considering that it was I who applied it, I was thoroughly impressed! They have super pigmented eye shadows. Just look at that green! Such a gorgeous pop of colour. And check out the pinks and oranges below.

( So they are doing very well in the Chinese market and hoping for the same success here in South Africa.
